We Remember

ADAM, Nelda Dell

July 14, 1933 — September 3, 2022

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Nelda Dell Adam, on September 3, 2022 in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 89 years.

Nelda was born July 14, 1933, in Regina, SK, to Walter and Macie Donnelly; their second daughter. The family moved throughout the prairies when Nelda was young. She attended Nutana High School in SK, and later attended Saskatoon City Hospital Nursing School in 1951.  She graduated from nursing school and married in 1954. Nelda had 3 children: Kirk, Patsi, and Kent. She worked at Mission Memorial Hospital, and retired at age 60 after a 40-year career in nursing. She moved to Kelowna, BC in 1998 where she enjoyed spending time at the beach, and needle work. She was an active member of the United Church, and a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Nelda is survived by her children: Kirk (Leslie), Patsi-Lee, and Kent (Pamela); grandchildren Kurt (Ashley), Brett (Amy), lacy, Cody, Jared, and Ashley; great-grandchildren Parker, Faith, Preston, Brayden, and Hilton; as well as her sister Patricia; sister-in-law Carole Donnelly; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Walter and Macie; and her siblings Audrey, Richard, and Donald.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paul Hart and the staff at Ethel Glen wing at Cottonwoods Care Facility, as well as the staff at the Village at Smith Creek.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
