We Remember
ADAMACK, Peter John Henry
February 29, 1948 — November 19, 2025
Peter Adamack Jr., born February 29, 1948, in Montreal, Quebec, passed away peacefully at the age of 77.
Peter was the son of the late Peter Adamack Sr. of Montreal and Dorothy Rutt of Hamilton, Ontario, and brother to his sister, Sandra. Over the course of more than four decades in the hospitality industry, he held management roles across Canada, including in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, before retiring to BC, first to Oliver, and, for the past fourteen years, Kelowna. Known for his professionalism, warmth, and ability to put others at ease, Peter built a respected and accomplished career.
An avid sports enthusiast, Peter especially loved golf and could often be found on the course whenever time allowed. He also enjoyed hockey, tennis, and baseball, and maintained a lifelong appreciation for the camaraderie and energy these sports provided.
Following his retirement, Peter devoted himself to volunteer service. He served for many years as an ambassador at Kelowna General Hospital, where his steady presence and welcoming manner offered comfort to countless patients and families. He also provided transportation for individuals attending medical appointments and contributed his leadership as vice president on the board of Sunrise Village. His commitment to service reflected his belief in giving back to the communities in which he lived.
Peter is survived by his son, Michael Adamack; daughter-in-law, Kim; and his grandchildren, Maddy and Max, who will carry forward his memory with love and respect. He will also be remembered by extended family members, friends, and all who were touched by his kindness and integrity.
A celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at Springfield Funeral Home (2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC), bringing together the many people whose lives were brightened by his presence.

So sorry to hear of Peter’s passing. He spent many years as a member, and eventually president of the Riverside (Edmonton ) mens’ golf club. Pete often played with Art Stephenson (who was known as “Mankind” , an homage to the WWE wrestler. One early season round the boys were about to putt out on 18. A pair of geese had taken to hanging around the green at this time. As Peter made for his ball, the gander made a wing flapping, beak snapping beeline for our buddy. Pete backpedaled as the goose snapped at his crotch. Fortunately, for Pete, the intrepid “Mankind” came flying across the green screaming and wildly swinging his putter. This put the goose on the run. God bless you my friend for one of the funniest memories I have. R.I.P.
To all family and friends of Peter,
My warmest sympathies for the departure of my good friend from the Queen Elisabeth Hôtel back in 1972 at the front desk where we worked and played hard. I thought him on how to play tennis and he became a better player than me. Then following a visit in Oliver in my retirement years, I ended working two years in Manning Park, skiing in powder and majestic environnement of BC. Thank you Peter and bon Voyage!
Sad to see my old QE friend go. We always kept in touch over the years, I keep good memories of our time we spent together. My condolences to his. Family and friends.
I knew Peter through my friend Richard Normandeau, only met him a handful of times but we always had a laugh together, My fondest memory was at my apt 6532 Coolbrook in Montreal where myself Richard and Peter spent a good part of the evening having a few drinks and laughing all night, the last time I was with peter he said to me “so I see they let you out” and I replied “ya, but only on weekends” . My condolences to all his family and friends, It was a pleasure knowing you Peter.
We have known Peter through golf and his volunteer work at Kelowna General Hospital. He was kind, funny, and always ready to help. Peter will be missed. Liz and Joe Caruso
I am saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. I was a member of the Chicago club and played many rounds of golf with him over the years. He shared many loving stories about his family and was always a joy to golf with. I will miss his warmth and never ending chirping that we shared about our golf swings.
My deepest condolences to Michael, Kim, Maddy, and Max.

Such sad news, my condolences to his family and friends. I will cherish my fond memories of our days back in Montréal working with Peter together with a great group of people. He knew how to make everyone feel at ease and had a true joie de vivre. RIP my old friend.
Although we had not seen each other in many years – my memories are fond and Peter’s gentleness and kindness are clear and vivid memories. Condolences to cousin Sandra and family.
