We Remember

ADAMS, Kevin Richard
August 3, 1958 — February 9, 2025
Born August 3, 1958, Kevin Richard Adams departed this life unexpectedly of natural causes on February 9, 2025, at the age of 66. With his beloved Barbara by his side. Kevin was born and raised in Vernon. His passing marks the end of a remarkable chapter, one filled with curiosity, and the joy of human connection.
Kevin leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Barbara, with whom he shared an extraordinary bond spanning four decades. Together, they were eagerly anticipating their 35th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2025 – a milestone that speaks to their enduring love. Kevin is also survived by his parents, Carl and Ruth Adams; his siblings Brian (Stephanie) Adams, Sue (Rick) Gilchrist, and Deron Adams; niece Jennifer Gillis; nephews Tristan (Adam) Gilchrist and Nathan Adams (Lyndsay); grandnieces Hazel and Kayleigh; grandnephew Ryker; as well as his mother-in-law, Shirley Henry; his brother-in-law Ken Henry and sister-in-law Nancy (Rob) Vos. He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Don Henry.
Professionally, Kevin spent his early days in the golf industry starting at Spallumcheen Golf and Country Club, and later working at the UBC Golf and Country Club while living in Vancouver. Upon moving to Kelowna, Kevin changed careers and became a care aide dedicating over 25 years to compassionate care at Mountainview Care Facility.
A history buff with a particular fascination for the strategies and decisions of wartime, Kevin spent hours building detailed war memorabilia models. He was an avid reader, enjoyed crosswords, loved rock and roll music, and following hockey and football. Fishing on the Okangan’s wonderful lakes brought him solace and comfort.
The winters found Kevin and Barb soaking up the sunshine in Mexico and later purchasing property there. It was a must-go destination for them that brought warmth to their lives. His curiosity, kindness, and love for travel made every moment an opportunity for discovery.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
“Today, we say farewell to Kevin Adams, a man whose kindness and strength will echo in our hearts.”
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Diabetes Canada.

Dear Barb, we were shocked to hear about Kev. We are devastated, and can’t stop thing about it. I just can’t imagine what you are going through, please know we are sending all our love your way. We have a real soft spot for “Boomer” as Randy called him, what a fun, gentle, kind soul he was. It’s hard to know what to say at this incredibly sad time, just know our thoughts are with you. My sincere condolences to Aunty Ruth, Uncle Carl and special cousins Brian, Susan and Deron – I spent the first 10 years of my life in Vernon and spent countless hours playing with my cousins leaving many happy memories to this date. A loss of life way too early.
So sad to hear of Kevin’s passing. To the family – please accept my deepest condolences He left us much too soon.
It breaks my heart to have lost my very cool, fun & much younger cousin. I am so sorry we lost touch with one another.. I lived at Uncle Carl & Auntie Ruth’s house during the summer of 1974 to work at the golf course all the way from Sask. My girlfriend & I were part of this busy family and it is one of my best & fondest memories in so many ways. Kevin was just full of fun, teasing & had a love of life. I am sending my deepest condolences & prayers to the whole family in this very sad & difficult time.. 💔🙏🏻
We were saddened to hear of cousin Kevin’s passing.. May all the wonderful memories that you have of Kevin help to give you comfort, peace and strength in the coming days.
Please know that we are thinking of you all and are sending you all our love.

Dear Barb and family,
It was sad to hear of Kevin’s passing. Although it has been a long time since we have visited with each other., I have good memories of our visits in Kelowna. Also, there were lots of fun times when we played together so many decades ago in the Adams Vernon home.. Kevin will be missed. Don Mohoruk, Coquitlam, BC
Ted and I are so sad to hear of Kev’s passing. Even though, we remember Kev at school, Ted was reminiscing about getting to know him better, while playing baseball for ‘Vern-Cal Cedars’ team; & the fun team gatherings throughout the years. Sending sincere condolences to Barb and Kev’s family xo
