We Remember
Adams, Stephen
September 4, 1960 — January 23, 2012
It is with deep sadness and broken hearts that we share the loss of our beautiful Stephen.
With fierce determination and a brilliant and gracious spirit, Steve’s valiant battle with cancer ended on January 23, 2012. Survived by his ever-loving wife, Tracey Hway, his precious young son, Finley, father Nathaniel Adams, mother Frances Adams (nee King), twin sister Colleen Adams, niece Chantell, nephew Austin, and in-laws Gerry and Bev Hway, sister-in-law Carrie Courtney, her husband Brad, and nephews Hayden and Carter. He journeyed this life with creative talent, an infectious smile, twinkling eyes, open arms and a huge heart full of generosity, warmth and kindness. He gifted us all with his time here and he will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Steve’s name, to The Actors Fund of Canada to help artists in an industry to which he was so passionately dedicated, or to Central Okanagan Hospice Association – Hospice House, 2035 Ethel Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2Z6, where we received incredible comfort, care and support during Steve’s final days.

My deepest sympathy to the Adams family, especially my friend Colleen – I can only imagine the pain of loosing your twin brother. As always I know that you will be a source of strenght for your family during this time.

Sandy
My thoughts are with all of you through this very difficult time. Gail
I was very sorry to read about Steve’s passing. He was a great person and a fine actor. His generosity of spirit filled any room in which he was in. As Artistic Director of Playwrights Workshop Montreal in the `90s I hired Steve on a number of occasions to workshop new plays. He was always insightful in his commentary and never failed to deliver a fine reading of the material. The world is diminished by his passing. Condolences to the family. We lost a good one.
Dear Frances, Colleen and family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this dificult time. Please know that we are here to support you in any way we can over this long distance from Burlington.
Deepest regrets,
Your friends and colleagues at the Burlington Art Centre.
I was very sorry to hear of Steve’s untimely death. I had the opportunity to work with him on the Centaur production of “Angels in America: Part II” a number of years ago in Montreal. I found him a rare delight to work with, completely genuine in his love of theatre and acting, and without ego or artifice. He was a lovely, generous man and the world is sadder without him. He will be missed.
Dear Tracey,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My thoughts and prays are with you and Finley.
Andrea
Dear Tracey:
Thinking of you today and wish I could be there. I am bereft that such a good man has been taken from us. My condolences to you and Steve’s Family.
Much love always, Marie Kovacs
Dear Frances and family,
We send you all our deepest sympathies. Stephen will be greatly missed by all you knew him. Meeting everyone at Mom’s a few years back was a wonderful time, with the King family being spread far and wide across this country and others. You are in our thoughts and Stephen will forever be in our hearts.
Love Sandy (Denis’ daughter) and family
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Steve’s passing. He and I played husband and wife in a movie shot in Montreal in the late 1990s. He was a delight to work with – such talent and generosity, such a wonderful sense of humour. After I left Montreal we lost touch, but I carried with me those fond memories of Steve. It’s a great loss. I offer my most heartfelt condolences to his family.
Dear Nat, Frances & Colleen,
We send our heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your dear son Stephen.
We were very saddened to hear of Stephen’s passing. Our heartfelt sympathy & wishes go out to you all during this difficult time.
Our family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy on the loss of such a special person. David was reminiscing about some of the good times they had together. Steven will be greatly missed by all.
To Frances, Nat, and Colleen,
I am deeply saddened by Stephen’s passing. Unfortunately we didn’t meet often in later years, but I have only fond memories of Stephen and his sensitive soul. Wish I could have been there with you today but all our thoughts are with you in this difficult time.
My deepest condolences to Frances and family at this sad time.

To an old friend who always gave 100% to everything he did. My deepest sympathies to Nat, Frances and Colleen
It is with great sadness that I learned of Steve’s passing. My deepest sympathies to all Steve’s family but particularly to Nat, Frances & Colleen. I have fond memories of teenage years with him and deeply admired his drive later on to cut his own path.
