February 11, 1944 — June 11, 2016
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy – Mom and Grandma. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Leo Dickinson; daughters: Joan Lynn, Pamela Finn, Bonnie Aker and Corrie Aker; grandchildren: Dylan Finn, James Lynn, Quentin and Jared Jardine; sisters: Pauline Pallan, Marianne London; and brother Herb Hall. Predeceased by parents: Gordon “Gyologyet” and Florence “Kweese” Hall; brothers: Neil Hall, William Hall, Tommy Dennis; and sister Betty Mancewich.
Dorothy was born on Wet’suwet’en territory in Moricetown, BC. Always enjoying the great outdoors, she and Leo loved to take many road trips over the years. Her many passions included birch bark basket weaving that her mother taught her, playing bingo and spending $20 at the casino. She adored her family and taking care of her two grandsons, Quentin and Jared.
A traditional viewing will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 18 with the service following at 4:00 PM at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you wish, you may bring a potluck snack to share afterwards. Such an amazing woman and a great friend, such a wonderful neighbor who was sooo kind, loving, and caring to us the past 6 years. A blessing to have as a neighbor. We will miss you Dorothy ! We will be sure to take care of Leo as much as we can. Rest easy dorothy.
