We Remember
ANAST, Anna
—
Anna Karagergiou Anast, of Kelowna, BC, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 11th, 2024. Born in Athens, Greece on April 23, Anna was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and devoted wife. Anna was the heart of her family and a cherished member of her community.
Anna met and married the love of her life, Chris, in 1972, who preceded her in death in 2022. They came to Kelowna and built a beautiful life together, full of family, friends, and legendary dinner parties. Anna dedicated her life to taking care of others with boundless love and selflessness. Her kitchen was always open and her meals, prepared with the utmost care, were a testament to her nurturing spirit.
Anna’s love was served on a plate and her home was a haven where no one ever went hungry or felt unloved. Anna’s legacy is defined by her extraordinary ability to make everyone around her feel special. Her devotion extended beyond her family to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered not just for her delicious meals but for the warmth, compassion, and love she offered up so freely.
Anna is survived by her 2 children, Mikey (Lauren) Anast and Panos (Sevy) Anast, and four adoring grandchildren who carry forward her spirit and love. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy of love and care will continue to inspire all who were touched by her generous heart.
Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
– Helen Lowrie Marshall

I am so grateful that you were my great aunt Thea Anna! I will cherish all the memories of you and the family growing up and also with my daughters in Kelowna. You will be missed, May your memory be everlasting and eternal. Sending love to all the family ♥️
Hello from across many kilometres. Even though we are far away I feel close to you these days, Mikey and Pano and all of Thea Anna’s family from Greece. My memories are fond of going to Thea Anna and Theo Christo’s house when on vacation from Edmonton. Their’s was an open house full of warmth for whomever entered. Not only that, I looked up to them and admired them both for their elegance and good taste as Europeans and wished to be like them when I grew older. They were like a special class and I was so proud to be part of this family of such hard-working and successful people. My love, hugs and kisses are sent to all the family from Spain and wish we can get together, here or there one day soon. Zoe se sas, Me poli agapi, Effy
Our deepest sympathies, to a beautiful woman, my aunt. May her memory be Eternal. You will be greatly missed by us and your family.
