We Remember

ANGUS, Richard Alvin

Oct 28, 1941-May 1, 2020

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Alvin Angus announce his passing on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the age of 78. He was at home surrounded by his loving family.

He will be loving remembered and missed by his wife of 51 years Poppy Angus; his son Jamie (Cristy); his daughters Christine and Shawna (Colin) Learning. His 5 grandchildren Brittney, Danielle, Colby, Zac and Stephanie, also 2 great-grandchildren Avolynn and Luci. As well as his sister Bonnie (Bob) Berry and his 6 life long friends Gary Robson, Bernie Schleppe, John Makelki, Herb Isaak, Jack Graham and Wayne Higgins.

Richard was born and raised in Kelowna to Alvin and Katherine Angus. He grew up and lived out his life on his grandparents West Kelowna property.

Richard owned and operated ABC towing and Auto Wrecking (Rutland Auto Wrecking) for 45 years. He retired to live out the rest of his life travelling and spending time with his family. For all who knew and loved Richard, he will be remembered for his honesty, compassion for others and his love for fishing and family. We find comfort in knowing he is in heaven surrounded by his many dogs and know he is fishing on the best lakes.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses in KGH who cared for him when we couldn’t be by his side because of the COVID-19. We’d also like to thank the palliative care nurses, care givers, occupational therapist and his family doctor who all cared for him alongside the family in his home.

Due to the uncertainty created by COVID-19 a celebration of Richard’s life will be held at his family’s property will be announced at a later date.

“I’ve gone Fishing.”

Love Papa
