We Remember

ANTON, Adam

March 6, 1930 — February 27, 2024

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our loving husband, father, and Opa, Adam Anton. He was an inspirational force in our lives, and will be greatly missed. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.

Adam is survived by his wife of 71 years, Martha (née Henschel); children, Gordon (Tracey) Anton and Evelyn (Jim) Rota; grandchildren, Chad (Rhiannon) Rota, Lindsay (Colby) Russell, Amy Anton, Andrea Andrich (Dimitrios); great-grandchildren, Logan and Mason Andrich, Lukas and Max Russell, and Sophie and Madelyn Rota. He is also survived by sisters, Helene Bonn, Rose Metz, Irma Anton, and Erika (Ernie) Lukacs; along with many nieces, nephews, and relatives in Canada and Germany. Adam was predeceased by his parents, Daniel and Olga; brother, Adolf; and sisters, Monica and Regina.

His greatest love was his wife, Martha, and he held his family dear above all else.

Adam immigrated to Canada in 1951, with Martha joining him in Lethbridge, AB in 1952, where they were married. On the advice of a cousin, the two moved to Kelowna, BC in 1954 and started their family the following year. They later moved to Vernon, and then Revelstoke, where he worked at Downie Street Sawmills before retiring, and then back to Kelowna in 1979, where they enjoyed many years with family and friends.

Our family wishes to thank Dr. Alexis Thomson and the staff at Mountain View Village for all the comfort and care they provided to Adam.
