We Remember

APPEL, William “Bill” Carl

September 6, 1941 — May 10, 2023

William “Bill” Carl Appel, 81, of Kelowna, BC, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2023.

Bill was born on September 6, 1941, to Rudolph and Evelyn Appel in Kelowna, BC.  He spent his childhood helping on his family’s orchard and exploring Kelowna with friends.

In 1960, Bill met Anna Romanuk and they were wed on May 25, 1963.  Bill and Anna went on to have three children, Gary, Larry, and Terry.

Bill had a passion for welding and spent his time in retirement creating metal art for his family and friends.

Bill was loved and cherished by his family and friends.  He always wore a smile on his face, despite the hardships of life, and was known for his loving hugs and caring heart.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Anna; their three children and their spouses, Gary (Charlene), Larry (Lisa), and Terry; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Bill will be greatly missed by all his family and friends – their love for him will carry on.

A special thank you to the home support and palliative care nurses who all took such special care of Bill.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, in his memory.
