We Remember

ASELTON, Douglas Ray “Doug”

August 3, 1937 — March 27, 2026

Doug Aselton passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026, at the age of 88.

Doug was a loving husband and father who will be deeply missed. He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Beverley Ann Aselton; his children Terry (Tammy), Rick (Cori), and John; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In his younger years, Doug discovered a love of motorcycles that stayed with him well into his senior years. He was also a talented woodworker, crafting miniature doll houses, shelving, rocking horses, and furniture with care and skill.

Doug spent 29 years working at Air Canada, and made the most of those travel benefits: exploring the world alongside Bev and the kids.

He had a gift for laughter and a fondness for a well-timed joke, and those who knew him will carry that warmth with them always.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mamas for Mamas.

Condolences

  • Tammy Aselton says:

My father-in-law Doug was one of the finest men I’ve ever known. He was kind, caring and compassionate and always full of mischief in the best way! He was a wonderful father and grandfather. His greatest pride was his three sons. All three of them have grown into fine, hardworking and caring men themselves. His love for his wife Bev was always evident. He was as devoted to her as she was to him.
He was a very talented woodworker often making shelves and cabinets and doll houses that were works of art! He loved to watch a good movie or read a good book. I will miss “dad” and our conversations about the grandkids, winning the lottery and what was going on in our lives. I will miss him sneaking into the pantry to grab a butter tart or some cookies or a bag of chips. I will miss his hugs and his smile and his laugh. Rest in Peace my dear dad. Until we meet again.
    Tammy

My dearest Grampa -It’s taken me a little bit of time to process losing you, but I was so lucky to have such a special man in my life. I think we likely wore out the land before time and ninja turtles movies on vhs because we watched them so many times together, snuck butterscotch ice cream any chance we got, tried to hit the jackpot at whatever garage sale we could find, damn near killed ourselves picking up golf balls off the beaten path at the ponderosa golf course and spent a ton of time picking out the coolest rocks at the beach in peachland! I still have all my wooden baby cradles and my doll house you built me to this day in my basement and it might take me some time to dig them out and look at them again, but I will keep them forever and always ❤️. I love you to the moon and back Grampa and will miss you every day. I know you’re up there riding your motorcycle in the sky 😘😘💔
