We Remember

Ayers, Solange

January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970

It is with great sadness that the family of Sally Ayers announces her passing after a lengthy illness on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the age of 91.

Sally was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank (1987); her parents Marie and Amand Despas and her siblings Anna, Bert, Marie and Ray.

Sally will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Marlene Vandale (Brian) and Helen Allan. Sally will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Todd Ivan, Trigg Allan, Dion Allan (Velma), Cheryl-Lynn Roberts and her great grandchildren Darren and Krystal Walsh.

Mother had a quiet, calm nature and an inquisitive and open mind. For the majority of her life, she dedicated herself to her family and her faith. We know that she has gained the Kingdom of Heaven and is sleeping with the angels.

A special thank you to Dr. Lacroix for looking after Mom during her last illness. We are so grateful to the nurses and staff on the North wing of the Central Okanagan Hospice house for their gentle and compassionate care during our Mother’s last weeks.

Visitation and Prayers will be recited on Thursday, March 8th at 7:00 pm and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 9th at 1:00 pm, both at St. Pius X Church, 1077 Fuller Avenue, Kelowna, BC, with interment to follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Dear Helen, Marlene and families, please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your mom. She was a wonderful aunt and we shared many good times with her. She was a very gracious lady and will be deeply missed by our family. We will especially miss the emails and the wonderful stories she shared with us over the years. We are sorry we are unable to attend the funeral but our thoughts and prayers will be with you that day. Love Marvin, Edie and family

  • Art and Dianne Grabatin says:

    Dear Helen and Marlene,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. We only have one MOM and Sally was a
special lady. May one day only happy memories prevail.
“Grief, like the ocean comes in waves only to recede and come yet again.
    But with it comes healing.
Memories wash ashore and are bathed by the golden sun.
Grab hold of those memories and let them fill the emptiness.
    May they bring you peace”.

    In friendship and with caring,

    Art and Dianne

  • Donnamae and John Turner says:

    Helen, Marlene and family:

“While grief is fresh, every attempt to divert only irritates. You must wait till it be digested, and then amusement will dissipate the remains of it.”

May joy and love be not far from your memories of your Mom.

Our deepest sympathy is sent to you.

    DM & John

  • Lynn and Bev Jost says:

    Helen, Marlene & families

Our deepest sympathy and prayers goes to all of you at this time. Mom’s are special and she will be looking down on you all now guiding in the right direction. For we all know, your mom liked being in the “drivers seat” – even though she didn’t drive.
While we are morning the loss of our mom and friend, others are rejoying her arrival.
Helen – we’ll be seeing you shortly
    Bev & Lynn

  • Vicki Saarinen says:

Please accept my condolences to all of you and I thank you for the short time I had with your mother as a Hospice House volunteer. I enjoyed some lovely times with your mother and considered it a priviledge to sit with her last Saturday while you were able to go out for a meal. Sincerely, Vicki
