We Remember
BADURA, Anna (Anka) (née Bugarova)
March 29, 1955 — February 26, 2022
It is with extreme sorrow and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Anna, on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Stanislav; son Stanislav (daughter-in-law Livia), daughter Alica (son-in-law Adam), and grandson William Stanley.
Anna was born on March 29, 1955 to parents Rudolf and Anna in Trstice, Slovakia. Anna was the eldest of five children and is survived by her mother Anna, brother Arpad, sisters Marta and Eva and youngest brother Tibor. She is also survived by nephews, nieces, godchildren Tibor and Kristinka, and many more extended family members.
Stan and Anna decided to leave Slovakia in 1989 to build a brighter future for their children and immigrated to Canada in 1990. They settled first in Saskatchewan but decided that Kelowna, BC would be their home, and it has been so ever since.
Anna’s life revolved around her family. Known for being incredibly hardworking, business-minded and ambitious, Anna always achieved what she put her heart and mind to. Anna was the successful owner of two pizza shops as well her own alteration business, Anka’s European Tailoring, which she ran on her own for many years. After working hard her entire life, Anna was excited to take time for herself and retired last year to do what she loved most, spend time with her beloved grandson Vilko. She was an amazing cook, loved her garden and flowers, loved camping, travelling and going away to the Hot Springs. Having an adventurous heart and mind, Anna was always up for trying something fun and new.
Anna was the matriarch of the family, and throughout her life the concern was never for herself but only for her family and their wellbeing. Anna touched the hearts of so many people around the world and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her, but most of all by her family.
You will always be alive in our hearts!
The memories we hold dear will give us strength,
You were always there for us, never thinking of yourself,
Always giving of yourself, your love, your warmth, and gentle ways,
Words cannot express the way we feel for you.
We miss you!
Love, your family.

Stan and family, we hope you are surrounded by much love during this difficult time. We are so terribly sorry for your sudden loss. We cherished every moment of having Anna and yourself as our next door neighbours, and appreciated every gardening tip/help which we’ve received over the years. Anna was an amazing person; we are grateful to have had the chance to know her. We are thinking of your family with love and know that you have a lot on your mind and heart right now. Please know we are here for you and will help in any way we can. You are in our warmest thoughts.
Mac and Linda
