We Remember
BAKKER, Anton
April 18, 1931 — November 10, 2024
It is with profound love and respect that we announce the loss of Anton Bakker, who passed away on November 10, 2024, at the age of 93.
Left to hold him dear to their hearts are his wife Edna; children Rebecca (John) Westerop, Corinne (Rudy) Van Rookhuyzen, Frank Bakker, and Ron Bakker; as well as eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
He now goes to join those who passed before him, including his first wife Hendrika, his daughter-in-law Pranita, his grandson Kyle, and his two brothers and sister.
Anton was born on April 18, 1931, and throughout his life, he was known for his unwavering dedication and hard work. A man of faith, he was a regular at church, and was appreciated by all who knew him. After the death of his first wife, his life took a joyful turn when he met Edna at a thrift store, a chance encounter that led to twelve and a half beautiful years of marriage. Above all, he was a devoted father and an incredibly loving grandfather, cherishing every moment with his family, who were his greatest pride and joy. His warmth and kindness will be missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Anton’s honour on SATURDAY, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM, located at the Kelowna Christian Reformed Church, 239 Snowsell St., Kelowna, BC.

Corinne, Please accept my condolences on the passing of your dad. I well remember serving at his wedding to Edna. It was one of the most enjoyable times I’ve had the honour to attend. He had a great sense of humour, and he and Edna were a pleasure to be around. He will be sorely missed. Will continue to pray for you, that the Lords presence and peace will surround you and Rudy and families.
We’re sorry to hear about your dad’s passing… May his memory be a great blessing to your whole family.
We are all thinking of you at this very difficult time. Our love and prayers are with you all.
