We Remember
BATES, Karen
September 7, 1959 — March 10, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of a very much-loved woman, Karen Bates, on March 10, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the age of 59. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Bud Bates, daughter Megan Bates and sister Kim Telford. She is predeceased by her mother, Betty Agrios and father, Michael Agrios.
Karen was born in Edmonton, Alberta on September 7, 1959. She was a special, loving woman. With her infectious laugh, sense of humour and kind spirit, Karen brought a smile to all those around her.
Karen enjoyed spending her days gardening in her beautiful yard, and sipping wine at night, gazing out at the beautiful view. Karen and Bud spent many years together, traveling, boating and working side by side growing a successful family business. Karen was best friends with her only child, Megan, and would jump at the drop of a hat to do something together. Karen will be missed by all who knew her, and certainly never forgotten.
Always in our hearts!
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, to celebrate the beautiful life of Karen.

Dear Bud and Megan,
I am so very sorry for your loss I just found out this evening and am stunned. Karen was my babysitter who made me a full crib set for my doll cradle! I have such fond memories of her, Kim, Aunty Betty and Uncle Mickey (which although not related, was what they were to me). Megan your tribute to Karen was beautiful and she would be so very proud of you. Karen was so special and loving and she will be missed. Take care of each other.
