We Remember
BEATTIE, Marion “Eleanore”
—
In loving memory of Eleanore Beattie who passed away on January 28, 2022, she was surrounded by family in her final hours. She was predeceased by her son Marc; grandson Daniel Beattie; and her long-time partner Don Nastiuk. She is survived by her younger brother, Ronald Ferguson; and three of her four children: Kevin (Glenda) [Tanya (Cory)] – [Tanis (Chris)] – [Ryan (Becky) and Jay (Tina)]; Allan –[Jeremy (Angelee)], – [Jill (Robin)], – [Daniel (predeceased)] – [Dustin (Mandi)]; Marc (predeceased) – [Jasmine (Austin)] – [Serrah] – [Joshua (Joanne)]; Diane Morrissey (Mike) – [Asia (Keith)], [Kassia (Justin)]; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Born in Vancouver, BC, Eleanore lived through the blackout nights during the second world war. After marrying Marlow Eugene “Gene” Beattie on April 2, 1956, she traveled Canada and the world as a devoted Air Force Wife. In 1970, Eleanore settled down with the family in the sunny Okanagan to watch them grow among the cherry orchard. She taught us all the value of family and a job well done, that rules existed for a reason, and that fresh air is always the best medicine.
