BEBAULT, Winnie Catherine
March 13, 1919 — March 15, 2015
Winnie passed away peacefully at Three Links Manor in Kelowna, on Sunday, March 15, 2015. Winnie Catherine (Heinrich) Bebault was born on March 13, 1919, near Neudorf, SK. In 1933, she moved with her family to the High Hill District, near Kelvington, SK. On August 30, 1945, she married Laurence Peter Bebault. They farmed on his homestead until 1962, when they moved to Rutland, BC. They bought a small grocery store with gas pumps, living quarters, and a rental suite on Highway 97, Finns Road. Winnie worked as a companion for elderly women, then babysat her granddaughters. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, gardening, and canning. In 1979, Laurence and Winnie retired to a three bedroom bungalow in Rutland. Since May 1, 2005, Winnie has been in long term care at Windsor Manor, Sun Pointe Village, and Three Links Manor. She was predeceased by her husband, Laurence, in 1996, and her siblings, Emma Johnson, Laina Isley, and Wilbert Heinrich. She is survived by her daughters, Gwen Bebault and Joyce Evans, her granddaughters, Gina Evans and Lori Evans,her great grandson, Garret Playden, and her great great grandson, Zaiden,as well as her sisters, Eileen Isley and Ellen Macdonald, her brother-in-law, Vince Isley, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna at 10:00 am on Friday, May 29th, 2015. A graveside service at St. Theresa’s Cemetery will follow in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favourite charity.
