November 5, 2024 — January 1, 1970
It is with great sadness that the family of Pearl Beckett announce her passing on August 12, 2019 at the age of 61. She leaves behind a family with whom she was very close: her loving partner Gary; her brothers and sisters, Alan of Calgary, AB, Jim of Saskatoon, SK, Kenny of Garrick, SK, Chuck of Saskatoon, SK, Mary of Red Deer, AB, and Shirley of Calgary, AB; and her many nieces and nephews.
Born in Nippawin, SK, Pearl was part of a large family. She came to Kelowna, BC in the early 80’s and had a 30-year career at the Kelowna General Hospital. She was one of kind, a phenomenal care giver who truly cared about people. Pearl loved so many activities; she loved to travel, and she did – often; she loved to ski, and she spent all her winters on the mountain; she loved flowers and being outdoors; she loved organizing, and she was a great planner; she loved her tablet, and she had great computer skills; she loved flying and being the navigator. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

We remember Pearl moving here and starting work as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at KGH in the early 80’s. She had a very friendly, calming disposition about her. She loved working with patients and we loved working with her. Always had something positive to say. Enjoyed hearing about her skiing trips and travelling stories. Lately, it was soccer field conversations while watching the “kids” play. Gary and Family, our heart goes out to you all and we join you in time of grief by celebrating the woman Pearl was. Dear Gary and family, As a longtime friend of Gary’s, we were so fortunate when he brought Pearl into our group. Over the past 25 years, we shared a lot of laughs and stories. You were a wonderful person Pearl and taken way too soon. My thoughts and condolences to you all at this difficult time.

I’m saddened to hear of the passing of my cousin Pearl.
I enjoyed visiting Gary and Pearl during my visits to Kelowna; sitting on the patio overlooking the orchards or going out for lunch.
Pearl was always up for skiing with me, even though she was by far the better skier.
I will truly miss her and my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.
Your cousin, Maureen

Gary and family, I will miss Pearl immensely as I know you will too. She always made time to check up on me, invite me to a movie with Gary and herself, take me out for birthday lunches, or take me with her family to church for the annual Christmas play. She was a very good friend and Co worker in Nuclear Medicine. She took me under her wing and helped me to gain confidence in myself and always had time to listen. She gave good advice, always had a smile and was an excellent hugger! She would always be there to help, offer a kind word or make you laugh. If it weren’t for you Pearl, I never would have made it at work! I will miss you greatly and pray that you are now at peace.
Sincerely,
Tracy LK Grozik (RT)NM
