We Remember

BELL, Douglas Bell (Belobaba)

September 18, 1943 — March 1, 2023

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sharon Meeker, and his children, Jay Bel, Janice Armstrong, and Tracey Currie.  He was the grandfather of 7 and a great-grandpa to 3.

Doug was born and raised in Victoria, BC as the youngest of 12. He raised his children in Kelowna, BC, with his first wife Evelyn.  He returned to the Island when he retired from School District #23, where he met Sharon, and they lived in the Oceanside area.

Doug was always active in the community, with CUPE 523, Army and Navy #376 Kelowna, Curling, Coaching, and Special Olympics to name a few. He loved gardening in his retirement and his gardens were enjoyed by all in the neighbourhood.

At his request there will be no service.  However, a luncheon for family and close friends will be held in his honour.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to: The Heart and Stroke Foundation in his name.
