    Marian & family,
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult and sad time. Fred was allways very good to us and and we appreciated him for his kindness, respectfulness and our shared love of Mable Lake. One of the most memorable experiances for us at Mable was when Fred called us at the cabin and said he wanted to show the cabin to a friend and could we meet him at the dock in 10 minutes to grab the rope for the float plane which they were landinding in a few minutes.
Of course we all had to run out to the dock and watch the plane land and then taxi to the dock. It was exciting for all of us on the beach and great to see Fred looking so tanned and healthy as usual. Now that he is gone his memory will survive at Mable and he will be missed by many of us there. Our deepest condolances and blessings on you all.

  • Kay Canham says:

We were shocked to hear today that Fred had passed. I worked with Fred in Calgary for 10 years when we lived out West and there was never a dull moment. It has been a while since John and I visited Fred & Marian at their lovely home near Mission Hills Winery. He seemed very happy and content. I’m sure we all have some great memories of times spent with Fred – always lots of laughs. Our sincere condolences go out to all who knew and loved him.

  • Don & Pat Kirkey says:

We were sad to hear about Fred. His cheery waves and hellos from the deck were always a treat. We miss the happy sounds from your pool and sadly Kona was not there to scare off the migrating ducks this spring. Please know you are in our thoughts.
Hugs from your Royal Gala neighbours

  • Bill Morrison says:

The Benini and Morrison families go back many years. Our fathers were friends from boyhood and the Benini boys and Morrison kids shared many experiences in our younger lives. Although I have lived in Victoria for 34 years now, I fondly remember many of those early years, especially with Tony who was closest to me in age. My heart felt condolences are extended to you on Fred’s passing. He was always very kind to me.

  • Stockwell Day says:

Marion, it was good to hear your voice and to reflect with you about what an amazing friend, advisor, and supporter Fred has always been. The last couple of times I chatted with him on the phone I could sense that his strength was weakening but his spirit,as always ,was strong.
Val and I have to be in Halifax on Saturday due to a previous commitment, but our hearts will be with you.
Please know that because of Fred’s commitment to the health of our country and his encouraging and sound advice on people, policy, and politics, our nation truly is a better place because of him. A citizen,a patriot,a champion,I miss him already.Regards always,Stockwell Day
