We Remember
BENOIT, Elizabeth Marie (Betty)
—
Betty passed away peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, October 14, 2015 at the age of 97. She was predeceased by Clair, her husband of 49 years. Born and raised in Winnipeg, they married in 1943 and began their wonderful adventure of raising 5 children. It was in the early 1990’s that they moved to the sunny Okanagan. Betty was a homemaker, a bookkeeper and a lifelong volunteer. Through the years, she was highly admired for her leadership and organizational strengths. Her family was the constant focus and joy of her life. Grandma’s memory will be cherished by her 5 children, 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. Always with us will be the gift of her laughter, her strength of character and generous spirit. A memorial mass will be held at St. Charles Garnier Church on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 10:30 am. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Center of the Southern Interior www.bccancer.bc.ca. . Edie and family. I will remember your mom forever, her character and laughter. She touched my heart and took a tiny piece with her. Thank-you for letting us look after her for all these years. And thank-you for being the best daughter and always being there for her. She loved her family. And I got to be her Mommy some mornings. Always your friend, Loni
Joan Heffernan has asked me to pass on that she is sad to hear of Betty’s passing, but also talked about what great memories she had of Betty from their childhood in Winnipeg to their time traveling and in Kelowna She was a lifelong friend
