We Remember
BEVERIDGE, Mary
March 24, 1923 — July 23, 2018
Our family is sad to announce the passing of Mom, July 23, 2018 at Kelowna Hospice. Mom was predeceased by the love of her life, Alex in 2012 and her 2 sisters, Adelaide and Dorothea as well as her brother Rupert. She is survived by her 2 sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Dave) Wood and Margaret Day as well as her daughter Lorraine (Roger) Perron and son Paul (Lee) Beveridge. Her grandchildren were so very important to her and she will be missed by Dawn, Kendra and Adria. She was a very involved Gigi to her special great grandchildren: Parker, Ryder, Teagan and Skylar.
Mom was born in East York, Ontario, March 24, 1923, the youngest of four. When she met Alex, a 67 year romance began. Their marriage was one of great love as they very much enjoyed being together. From travelling to golf, bike rides, playing cards, bowling, singing, long drives they were always on the go. Mom’s gift of hospitality and love of entertaining made their home a gathering place for family and friends.
They started early married life in East York but raised their family in Edmonton until retiring to the Okanagan in 1990. When Dad died, Mom moved to Hawthorn Retirement Center where she continued to be involved as she volunteered and made new friendships.
Mom will be remembered by her love for family and her joy in encouraging and helping others.

We have wonderful memories of a beautiful lady, and many pleasant gatherings together!
May the Lord’s comfort be your experience in these difficult days. Bill & Dori Hoshizaki
What a beautiful lady dear Mary was. I have such fond memories of her compassion and care when we were both involved with Seniors Outreach. She always sought to give of her time and talents to others and to did so with a smile and thoughtful words. Her encouraging and joyful spirit were always a pleasure to behold.
How sad to hear of Mary’s passing as we were planning to go to lunch when we met her a couple of weeks ago on her scooter outside urban fair but when we called to make a date she failed to call back so we thought she would not be able to make it. We have many happy memories of times with Mom & Dad as neighbours as we both moved here in 1990 & we all grew up in East York. Kaye & Len Jupp
Mary is a huge part of our Kelowna memories since we met her in 1992. We always loved her enthusiasm to try anything! Our condolences to the family.
Dear Lorraine, Roger and family,
Please accept our sympathy. You have lost a dear mother and we have lost a valued friend. The last time we talked to Mary, we shared happy (and silly) memories and our conversation ended on an upbeat.
A memorable chapter in our lives has ended and we will miss Mary as we have missed Alex all these six years.
Love to you all,
Tom and Kaye Howard
