BIELAK, Aaron James

November 26, 1981 — August 10, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Aaron James Bielak in his 45th year. Suddenly, on August 10, 2026, Aaron left this mortal coil to begin his next journey.

He leaves behind his most loving children, Keaton Adriel Bielak (17) and Daelah Rose Bielak (14). Keaton and Daelah were everything to Aaron and were the “apples of Dad’s eye.” They will miss their father deeply and carry his love with them always.

Aaron will also be deeply missed by his partner, Kari Rebar; his mother, Christine, and her partner, Rick; his father, Joseph; and his brother, David.

Aaron grew up as part of a blended family in the Bankhead area of Kelowna. When Christine and Rick brought their families together, Rick’s children, Leslie, Tyler, and Shannon, joined Christine and Aaron, and together they shared a home and family life.

Aaron also leaves behind a large and loving extended family. On his mother Christine’s side, he is remembered by his grandfather, Jim Whittaker; aunt Judith: and on his father Joseph’s side, by his aunts Laraine, Joan, and Janet, and his uncle Lawrence. He is also remembered by his cousins Mark, Rosanne, Debbie, Terry, Kim, Kolson, Shayne, Calynn, Skyler, Joe, Laurie, Jerry, Tina, Sheri, Jessica, Shauna, Grant, Lori, Alicia, and Ainsley; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Aaron was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Stephanie Bielak; his maternal grandmother, Brenda Whittaker; and his aunts, Carolyn and Pamela.

Aaron was born at Florida Keys Memorial Hospital on American Thanksgiving, Thursday, November 26, 1981, at 11:50 a.m. in Key West, Florida, to proud parents Joseph and Christine. Being born in Key West ensured his special “Conch” status.

Aaron’s early days in Key West were filled with beautiful skies, warm beaches, and the fragrance of frangipani trees. It was undoubtedly there that Aaron’s love of floral scents, curiosity, and nature began to flourish.

His childhood continued in the Bankhead area of Kelowna, where he—and, years later, his own children—would attend Bankhead Elementary. Aaron’s quest for truth and knowledge was reflected in his love of reading, which began at a very early age. Over the course of his life, he read more than 2,000 books.

Aaron pursued both the arts and athletics with curiosity, passion, and commitment. He painted on canvas and was also skilled in graffiti art, where he chose to be known as “Remorse.” His creativity flowed naturally into his love of all types of music and his work as a professional DJ, performing under the name “Mode.” It was through music that he met Heather Gordon, the mother of his children and the love of his life.

Aaron excelled in sports as well, including snowboarding, skateboarding, parkour, martial arts, and tennis. Above all, however, was his love of baseball, to which he devoted much of his childhood and continued to enjoy into adulthood. He was fortunate to play with associations throughout Kelowna, West Kelowna, and Rutland, forming friendships that would remain with him throughout his adult life.

Many admired Aaron for those lasting friendships and for the loving kindness, generosity, and compassion he showed to others. Aaron would drop anything at the drop of a hat to help those in need—only to arrive an hour or two later. Those who knew Aaron will understand exactly what that means, and without a doubt, smile in remembering him.

Aaron never refused a challenge and met each day with an optimism and curiosity that perfectly matched his personality. He will be missed beyond words.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2026, from 11:00 – 4:00 PM, located at the Kelowna Event Centre, 2041 Harvey Ave, Kelowna, BC.
