Bill Born

February 11, 1934 — September 27, 2011

BORN, William “Bill”

Bill Born of Kelowna BC, died September 27, 2011 at Kelowna General Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was 77.  Throughout his journey, Bill’s faith and trust in God remained steadfast as it had throughout his life.  In the early years of Bill’s career he transitioned between several companies until he became a partner of Kelowna Readi-Mix – a position he held from 1976 to 1990.  In his retirement years he spent many volunteer hours working at Gardom Lake Bible Camp (GLBC) in Enderby, BC.  Bill also enjoyed RVing, his wife’s cooking, playing cards, reading and singing, and he was an active member of Willow Park Church.

Bill is survived by his wife Hilda and their four sons, Larry, Ronald, Norman and William and their wives; twenty grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Bill’s family would like to thank the doctors and hospital staff, who provided excellent care throughout his fight against cancer. A memorial service for Bill will be held on Monday, October 3rd 2011 at 1 pm at Willow Park Church, 439 Highway 33 West, Kelowna, BC. Donations for camper sponsorships at GLBC will be gratefully accepted. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.springfieldfuneralhome.com, 250-860-7077.
