We Remember
BLUETT, Sandra Marie
August 16, 1950 — April 28, 2024
It is with great sadness and a deep love that we announce the loss of Sandra Marie Bluett, who passed away while surrounded by family on April 28, 2024, at the age of 73, after a 1.5-year battle of lung and kidney cancer.
Sandra was born on August 16, 1950, to Dorthy and Rudy Beaulieu, in Toronto, Ontario. She was married to her husband Ray Bluett for 53 years, and the two started a beautiful family together, welcoming their daughter, Elaine. Eventually, Sandra would become an amazing grandmother to Elaine’s daughter, Madison.
Sandra epitomized dedication and compassion throughout her four-decade-long career as a nurse, with an impressive 25 years served at Kelowna General Hospital. Beyond her professional endeavours, Sandra had a passion for all things creative. Whether she was cross-stitching, painting, or scrap booking, her artistic spirit shone brightly. Sandra’s love for sewing and floral arranging reflected her penchant for bringing beauty into the world. Animals held a special place in her heart, particularly her adoration for cats and birds, whose company brought her immense joy and comfort. Her eclectic taste extended beyond her hobbies, embracing every type of music and exploring every genre of film, illustrating her openness to the diverse experiences life had to offer. Sandra’s legacy is not only one of unwavering dedication to care, but also of embracing the richness of life’s tapestry with boundless curiosity and passion.
Left to treasure her memory is her partner of 58 years, and husband of 53 years, Raymond Bluett; daughter Elaine Ryan (Barrie Kilborn); granddaughter, Madison Ibraimovski; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sandra’s siblings, Rudy (Wanda), Cindy (Chris), Carol, and Louise (Doug) will all miss her deeply as well.
