We Remember
BOEHM, James Welton
—
August 1992 – July 2020
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our son, brother, and friend, James Boehm. The past few days have been devastating for our family and to the many others that were genuinely impacted by James’ kind and gentle ways.
James held family close to his heart. He let all his friends know that he loved his mum above all. In all his endeavours, she was there to support him. He connected deeply with many people including his long-time friends in Kelowna, and his family in the UK. We have been comforted by the many fond memories and photos shared by family and friends over the last week.
James was happy and successful in his profession as an Insurance Adjuster. He was good-natured, comforting and was integral to making those around him happy. In his spare time, he enjoyed helping and working with his father in his business.
James had a bright future ahead of him, was full of life, and was always planning his next adventure.
We will all miss you.
A celebration of life will be held in James’ honour, by invitation only due to Covid-19 restrictions.

I had an opportunity over the last few years to get to know James on a professional level working as a competitor Independent Adjuster. I also was fortunate enough, to get to know him playing baseball and having a few pints after games at the local watering hole. One of my favourite memories was playing Baseball last year at the East Kelowna Ball diamonds and James coming up to bat after telling us we were down by just one run and he had an opportunity to win the game. He hit a nice little bump over the second baseman and began motoring to first. The Center Fielder snagged the ball and hammered it to first base overthrowing the first baseman by about 50 feet. James continued pressing onto second base, and eventually third with the first baseman having recovered the ball realizing what was transpiring on the field. He threw the ball home with a mad fury and James began the lengthy sprint to get past the catcher. He beat the ball by mere seconds to score what could have been the game winning run however it was quickly brought to his attention we were down by five runs and his incredible efforts were in vain as our next batter was quickly struck out. As James came into the dugout we all celebrated like he’d just won the World Series and it was one of the best moments watching him smile, sip a cold Coors out of the team trophy, and laugh at what could have been.
James will be missed by so many and was a gentleman in the insurance industry. We occasionally ended up on opposite sides of a claim and our work calls would usually end up being about life and the Okanagan, friends, and the future. He was always a pleasure to be around and his smile and good nature will be missed. Hugs to James’ family and friends from ours. It was my honour to get to know you James. Thank you for making the world a better place just by being in it.
Dear Jane, Adam and family, I am stunned and heartbroken to hear this news. I know how deeply you love James and it is such a cruel turn in your lives. I send love to each of you that you may manage this turn of events in your lives. Love Ingrid.
My deepest sympathy to James’ family & friends. I had the fortune of attending the University of Calgary and living in residence with James. I’ll remember him as kind, gentle, and always speaking so fondly and highly of his mother. Holding you all close in my thoughts and prayers.
James was a wonderful young man, kind and caring. He will be missed.
We are so sorry to hear of James’ passing. I remember him as a very young boy and his piercing blue eyes. We are just so very, very sorry for your loss. Our son, Jordan, is the same age as James.

Jane and family.
James was a kind and loyal friend. I am so sorry for your loss. I cannot imagine the devastating heartbreak you are feeling. I am sending prayers to you and your family.
I will always remember James as a little boy. I had the pleasure of sometimes looking after him and his brother Adam. They were very affectionate children. Always ready to snuggle us close in my arms and watch tv. I have fond memories of the two of them playing together.. I know that Adam must feel a terrible loss as I did when i lost my brother. I believe that one day the family will see each other again. That is truly something to look forward to. May your family find the strength to support each other at this terrible time. Our hearts go out to you all, Love from Pam and Mary
