We Remember
BOGNAR, Joe
February 24, 1938 — December 15, 2013
Joe, of West Kelowna, passed away peacefully on Sunday Dec. 15, 2013 with his wife and daughter by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Diane and their four children; Tracey, Tammy (Tony), Joey (Megan), and Kim (Mark), three grandchildren; Stephanie, Aaron and Jolissa, many nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of wonderful friends. Our Joe will be remembered by his warm smile, his witty sense of humour, his strength and his unselfish love and devotion to his family and friends. He loved to cook, enjoyed his daily walks and looked forward to meeting friends for coffee at the local McDonalds.
In honour of Joe’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. He did want to send a special “thank you” to Dr. Steinruck and all the RN’s on 2 East at Kelowna General Hospital.
A special smile,
A special face.
In our hearts,
A special place.
Memories are a gift to treasure,
Ours of you will last forever.

Really going to miss Joe and want Diane & the family to know we all share their sorrow in his leaving us. I’ll always remember Joe’s answer to how he was doing…a thumbs up! A great friend. Bye for now Joe.
my papa, you have been close to my heart since I was a baby, and it has never changed and it never will change.. as the years go on I will hold you even closer, the memories we shared could never be repeated as they were memories only we could share together.. no words can describe how much love I have for you, even though you are gone I can still here that heart beat of yours, when every thing is quiet I lay in bed and remember all the times you rocked me to sleep in your chair with my head on your chest listening to you heart beat, and to this day that’s what I listen to when I go to sleep, it makes me think of MY PAPA
I love you and miss you greatly xo
My father and my friend what more can a girl ask for from her Dad.
I have such Great memory’s from you!
Our cooking, our gardening and our times watching AFV together I can still hear you laughing. I thank you for all the time we spent together. I can only wish that there was more time together. But there will come a day when we will spend endless time together.
Good-bye Dad
I will see you again some day!
I never did get to say Merry Christmas to you xoxox
To Dad
I will miss you but will never forget the memories that I have had through the years. You are the person that I always looked up to, my hero, my dad. I want to say thank you for being the best father that a son could ever had.

I will miss you, you will be in my heart forever. It was a short time knowing you but it was so meaningful. Your sense of humour, your smile and stubbornness was one of a kind. Thanks for being part of my life. Love Megan
Diane – Your Joe will be remembered for many things – Always thinking of others first – his cooking that he loved – especially his soups – talking and his endless knowledge to keep any topic going – his love of nature – his amazing sense of humour – always a great host – the first to speak and welcome others with his great smile. He will be dearly missed. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Joe’s life. God’s speed Joe!

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you. Joe will be missed not for just who he was, but what he offered to each person that had the pleasure of knowing him. A person of quality in so many ways.

Dianne & family – Thinking of you at this difficult time in your lives. Be assured of my love and prayers!
The overwhelming love and support we have received from family and friends is simply amazing. Thank you everyone for all your words of encouragement and kind words about Dad. It’s consoling to know how many people remember him for the kind-hearted gentleman he was. He made such an impact on so many people. I miss you Dad, and I’m so proud of the man you were. You were our family’s ‘rock’. You have always inspired me to be a better person. I will do my best to make you proud.
Mom has been so strong…it’s your strength that she carries with her. Please know that i will always be here for her.
I love you Dad, and instead of saying ‘goodbye’, I’ll just say ‘see you later’.
Love you always and forever,
Kim (Daddy’s Little Girl) xoxo
So sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. Thinking of you during this difficult and sad time.
We are rich not for what we can buy, but how we live our lives. Joe Bognar was a very rich man, for all the lives he touched. A devoted father and husband, a caring, thoughtful, giving man. There is a big emptiness in the family now, and as they try to heal and carry on, I pray the emptiness is filled with beautiful memories. Although he can’t be touched or seen, his spirit and life will live on. My deepest sympathy to the Bognar family, may your hearts find peace, and may his memory embrace you and bring a smile to your face. Do not mourn his death, celebrate his life for the wonderful man he was.
We are very sad to hear of Joe’s passing.
