BOON, Michael “Mike”
January 21, 1930 — January 5, 2014
Our beloved husband, father and friend, Mike passed away after a long journey with vascular dementia. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary Frances, his children Rick (Adrienne), Sandy (Merrilea) and his grand-puppy A.J. Also surviving Mike are his brother Justyn (Joyce), sisters-in-law Clara Matear and Elsie Lauzon as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank and acknowledge their Kelowna family Mike, Val, Patrick, Jacqueline, Jimmy and Michelle Bobyn for their years of love and friendship. A special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff at Cottonwoods Extended Care and to Dr. Paul Hart. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charles Garnier Catholic Church, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:00 am. Donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 307 – 1664 Richter Street, Kelowna, BC V1Y 8N3. Mike was a great guy to work with at Edmonton Telephones ! I had the pleasure of his company from 1974 to 1981 ! Very sorry to here of his passing !
Mary, and ‘Booner’, so sad to hear this news. He was a great guy and ‘one of the team’ for a number of years. A bunch of us were at Linda’s the other night and heard then. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.
