We Remember
BOURELLE, Karen Lee
October 3, 1959 — February 18, 2024
Karen Lee Bourelle passed away unexpectedly on Sunday February. 18, 2024, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 64, with her kids by her side. She was predeceased by her father (Philip), her special “Uncle Bob” and other loved ones. Karen leaves behind her beloved children Angela (Bryce) & Erik (Brittany); her grandchildren (the light of her life) Emma & Benjamin; her mother Norlaine; siblings Rhonda (Ron), Ron (Guylaine), Clifford, and Cindy; and numerous other relatives and friends who she loved very much.
Karen worked at Interior Health and KGH as an MDR Technician. In her spare time she loved sewing, quilting and crafting. She was a very gifted seamstress. Her sewing room was her happy place.
Karen was all about big holiday gatherings and “Turkey” dinners. She would always cook enough to feed an army. Karen loved her desserts and is well known for her shortbread, rum cake, and she always made butter tarts for “her boy” Erik. Karen’s favorite time of year was Christmas! Anyone that knew her would agree that she went all out with decorating. Karen was everyone’s biggest cheerleader. From Erik’s dirt bike races, Brittany’s barrel racing, Ben’s Parkour, to Emma’s numerous cheerleading competitions. She was always there cheering her loved ones on.
Karen was known as “Mouse”, a nickname her father gave to her as a child. She always said, “Everything happens for a reason” and “Good things come to those who wait”.
Karen loved and requested white lilies and freesia for her memorial. Her family welcomes you to bring white lilies on the day of service to share with her.
