We Remember
BOURNE, Kathryn Ann
February 27, 1953 — March 8, 2026
With profound sadness, I announce the passing of our dear sister Kathryn Ann Bourne on Sun, March 8th, 2026.
Born on February 27th, 1953, Kathy was a shining light in our family and a best friend and confidant to many. She grew up working side-by-side with her family on a farm near Netherhill, Saskatchewan, and Kath participated in all of farm life’s challenges and joys. This is where she developed her love for all animals (except snakes) and that love continued throughout her life.
Kathy had a unique ability to connect with people on a profound level, leaving an impact on everyone she met.
Graduating with her RN, Kathy nursed in Saskatchewan at various hospitals and worked for the STARS program in Alberta. She, along with her mom, moved to Kelowna, BC in 2000, where Kathy continued her nursing career in long-term care facilities; she eventually moved into management positions.
Kathy’s humour was infectious and I can still hear her laughing after startling someone who was caught unaware.
Kathy was a constant companion and support to her nephew Jeffrey throughout his life and they developed a special bond.
She was predeceased by her father, Victor Bourne; mother Muriel (née Roach); and sister, Beverly (Bob) Reed.
She is survived by her brother Bob Bourne, and her nephews Jeffrey (Sarah) and Justin (Brianna); brother Tim Bourne; sister Maureen (David) Beauchesne, niece Bre (Cody) and nephew Dan (Yoshiko), and her grandnephews- and nieces; and by her niece Connie (Mark) Elliott; as well as uncle Barry (Janet) Roach, and many cousins who were a constant in Kathy’s life. She will also be missed by Janice, who was Kathy’s forever friend.
Her spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

I was so saddened to hear of Kathy’s passing.
She was such a good friend as we grew up and then again when we lived in Saskatoon going to nursing
Sending our deepest sympathies to the whole BOURNE Family
Dear Maureen and David, Bob and Tim and Families, Our condolences to you on the loss of your sweet sister. Kathy had a heart that overflowed with love, kindness and grace. Her sense of humour was infectious. We smile when we think of the joy, a good scare and making someone jump brought to Kathy. It wasn’t long before she had everyone laughing. She leaves a lovely legacy of love for family and numerous friends, and animals (except snakes) Wrap up all of your special memories and tuck them into your hearts for safe keeping.
Love, Alan and Louise

Kathy was a gift from heaven to countless people and especially to me as her lifelong friend. I am so thankful to have had her grace my life with shared laughter, tears and joie de vivre. Rest in peace Dear Kathy. To Bob, Tim & Maureen – Ray & I send our deepest condolences.
We were all blessed to have had Kathy’s kindness, infectious sense of humour, generosity and loving presence in our lives. She had the biggest heart of anyone I’ve known. Thank you dear friend for the times we had together.
I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Bob, Tim & Maureen. I have great memories as a kid of Kathy’s baking on my many visits to the farm & getting to sample her great pies & cakes..
Although I only met her once I could see right away why she was loved by so many and why my friend Maureen was so close to her and loved her so much.
Dear Maureen, David, Bob, Tim and your families. The world was a little sweeter wherever Kath lived. She was such a beautiful soul and we are so lucky to have called her friend. Love from Cathy Harrigan-Bur and Barb Harrigan Finley
