We Remember
BOYD, Jennifer Lee “Jen”
December 21, 1971 — June 7, 2024
Jen passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024 at the age of 52 following a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her family and loved ones, Jen passed with the same spirit and grace she lived by.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Jen lived briefly in Peace River and then spent much of her adult life in Grande Prairie, Alberta before relocating to Kelowna, British Columbia in 2022.
Jen was an interior designer and had a passion for making a house a home. She had a creative eye and a resourceful ability to turn something old into something beautiful. She didn’t shy away from a renovation and could find a project to undertake in even the newest of builds.
In addition to work, Jen loved golf, curling, biking, paddleboarding and fitness in general. Jen was fiercely competitive but a great sport. She was positive and encouraging to those she competed with and against.
Jen loved to have fun and had a number of friends in addition to a large extended family. She was a loving mother and sister and a dependable friend you could always count on.
Jen loved to sketch and draw and enjoyed other artistic pursuit. Her green thumb showed in her garden and yard. She was an avid movie lover and passed the love of film on to her children.
Jen is predeceased by her mother, Lucy Heggart (Hebert) and her partner, Wayne, as well as her beloved puppy, Jagger.
Jen will be dearly missed by her children, Jade Boyd (Jared) and Jackson Boyd; and their father Vernon Boyd; her loving partner, Jim Chrenek; her twin sister, Kelly Burk (Brad) and daughter Ella; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, extended family and friends.
The family wishes to thank BC Cancer and the Kelowna General Hospital, particularly the staff in the ER and the compassionate and caring staff on the sixth floor, who made Jen’s last days so comfortable.

My condolences to Jenn’s family. I met Jenn in Grande Prairie through running. She was a wonderful friend (even though we lost touch in years). I remember our fun trip to Vegas when we ran the half-marathon. Sending ❤️ to her family.
