August 4, 1929 — May 3, 2013

Everdina “Dini” Braam passed away suddenly in her own home at the Wedgewood in Kelowna, British Columbia on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the age of 83 years. She was born on August 4, 1929 in Silvolde, the Netherlands / Holland. Immigrating to Canada in 1954, she initially settled in Ottawa and then moved to Kelowna in 1958, where she married Wilhelmus (“Bill”) Braam.

Survived by her three sons and their families: Mark & Maureen, Nicole and Michael of Vancouver; Ron & Ela and Logan of Burnaby; Francis & Marlene, Spencer, Ethan and Ryan of Kelowna. Also lovingly remembered by her surviving brothers and sisters and their families, Theo Heyming (Nellie) of Toronto, Karen Dewit (Joe) of Carstairs, Alberta, Peter Heyming (Ann) of Kelowna, Leny Gaffney (Jim) of Ireland, and sister-in-law, Connie Heyming of California.

Sadly predeceased by her parents, grandson Christopher, brother Henry (“Hank”) Heyming and sister Bets Nuyens.

What was most important to Dini and gave her the most pleasure were her children and their spouses, grandchildren and siblings. She worked hard to provide the best she could for them and gave them much love. On several occasions over more than 30 years, she was the catalyst for large family gatherings which are fondly remembered.

    Dear Ron, Francis and Mark,
So sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She was my Godmother and I will always remember her. I remember when I worked at London Drugs years ago, she would come into the store shopping quite often. She would always come and say hi to me and she told me more than once how special all you boys were to her. I also had 3 boys at the time (now have 4) and she would tell me that boys are always good to their moms. She was so sweet.
    Thinking of you all,
Martha, Cory, Bill, Shane, Dillon and Shawn
