We Remember

BRAUN, Kenneth David “Ken”

May 5, 1937 — January 22, 2024

It is with great love and sorrow that we announce the loss of Ken Braun, who passed away, at the age of 86, on January 22, 2024, in Kelowna, BC.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ollie, with whom he shared his life for over 63 years; daughters & sons-in-law, Mandy & Paul;grandchildren, Calvin (Kate), Clayton; great-grandchild Axel. Sherry & Joe; grandchildren Alex, and Adam; siblings Wayne, Albert, Neil, Terry, Marlene, Darlene, Sharlene, and Sharon; as well as numerous extended family members. He was predeceased by his sister, Marjorie, and his brothers, Peter and Teddy.

Ken was born in Manitoba on May 5, 1937 to David and Anne Braun. He met his wife Ollie 65 years ago when they were working, attracting her with his 1957 Chevy, and his down to earth, well-mannered, good nature sealing the deal. Ken knew how much Ollie loved to dance, and over the years he became an excellent dancer! He worked hard for 35 years at Western Star before retiring at age 65. During their child-raising years, Ken was a wonderful, hands-on dad and a supportive husband. His family remembers how social he was and how much he loved to make people laugh. Ken was always looking for an opportunity to crack a joke or play a prank. The stories of his mischief are endless!

Ken’s memories will live on in the hearts of his loving family and friends, and whenever someone embodies his fun-loving mischief.

A Celebration of Life in honour of Ken will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital.
