We Remember

BRAY, Susan Grace

December 17, 1940 — May 18, 2021

On Tuesday, May 18, 2021, Susan Grace Bray, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 80.

Susan was born on December 17, 1940, in Canmore, Alberta. She was the fourth of eleven children, and she spent her youth in the mountains. Susan met her husband Doyle at the Calgary Stampede in 1960, and from there, they began a rich life full of travel and adventure, getting married in 1964. With their son Sean, they lived in Anchorage, Alaska; Denver, Colorado; and Aberdeen, Scotland, before settling back in Calgary. They moved again in 1995 to Kelowna, to a house on a mountain. Even after retiring, they traveled the world, enjoying their time on cruise ships to Greece, Alaska, Croatia, and other exciting destinations.

Susan was an incredible businesswoman and saw much success in her clothing store brand, Lady Suzanne Fashions. She had a knack for fashion, and a way of connecting with her clients, who continued to reach out to her years after she closed her last store. She was an avid reader, a great writer, and a fantastic baker. She was kind, compassionate, and she loved her family more than anything. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Doyle; her son, Sean; her daughter-in-law, Marilla; and her granddaughters, Michaela and Quinn. The family would like to thank KGH, Hospice House Kelowna, Dr. Kelly Goutier, Linda Frisby, and neighbour Jean Lloyd for making her last years meaningful and comfortable.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
