May 26, 1935 — April 10, 2013
Born on May 26, 1935 in Calgary, AB. Met and married her husband of 56 years, Joe Brewster in Banff, AB, where they lived and raised their family for 27 years. Passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side in Kelowna, BC on April 10, 2013. Survived by four children, Joe Jr. (Cheryl) of Kelowna, Shannon Brewster-Darragh (Greg) and their son Zack of Kelowna, Don (Mary) and their children Pat and Mack of Banff, Karyn Brewster-Harris (Cray) and their daughters Lexi and Sydney of Kelowna, BC. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 4:00 pm at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elsie’s memory to Central Okanagan Hospice Association – Hospice House, 2035 Ethel Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 2Z6 or Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5L3. The world has lost a wonderful lady.
I met Elsie at World Gym on my first day there at least 4 years ago. She immediately became a friend. Always enjoyed talking to her, she was such a kind lady with a wonderful smile.
My sincere condolences to Joe and Elsie’s family, she will be missed.

So sorry to hear your sad news – your mom and I spent many hours together years ago at the Banff Skating Rink for skating lesson and also making many skating costumes together. These were times I cherish as we watched you all grow into the fine people you are. She was a lovely lady and I know you will miss her so much. Hugs…….
