We Remember

BROOKS, Beth “Auntie B./Be-Ba”
December 4, 1953 — January 26, 2025
Beth Brooks, affectionately known as Auntie B. or Be-Ba, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, at the age of 71, surrounded by family. A woman of immense strength and infinite love, Beth was a home base for all who knew her – a comfort, a rock, and a fierce protector and defender.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Brett Penner; her countless foster children, including Teresa, Bryce, Corey, Crystal, Jamie, Alicia, Josh, and Randall “Dandy boy”; her sister, Erna Hood; brothers, Gary (Linda) Brooks and George (Nellie) Brooks; her sisters-in-law, Diane and Lillian Brooks; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She also leaves behind her cherished “lapdog,” Ona. Beth was predeceased by her parents, Ernie and Caroline; her brothers, Clair and Carl; her nephew, Christopher Hood; and her best friend, Carolyn Senecal.
Beth lived life on her terms – stubborn yet in equal measure she was wise. Always ready with advice, laughter, or a power tool in hand, her motto, “Go big, or go home!” perfectly captured her fearless approach to life. Her beautifully landscaped yard and ever-welcoming home were filled with love and laughter, and while the strife that life brings was there too, she did everything she could to ease it. Summers were spent poolside, with family and friends drawn in by her warmth and hospitality. She was a natural storyteller, and her words, filled with humour and wisdom, will be cherished by those who got to hear them.
Beth’s love, wisdom, and fierce spirit will live on in our hearts. She was truly one of a kind. “Be Safe” XOXO.

Love you Auntie B 🩵💙🩵
I can’t believe she’s gone. She will be missed.
Miss you 😔
Love you Auntie B
Love you and miss you Beth.
We became friends because I had met Carolyn and she was doing day programs with one of my care people. And Then You and Carolyn attended my wedding and when Dennis passed on you both were there for me. You then managed to take in my guy Josh because he needed 2 caregivers and before Covid I was able to visit and see him when I wanted. Thank you both for being such great friends. You will never be forgotten.
Love Terry.
Pictures of only a few of my wonderful memories.
Beth signing the witness papers in my yard after me and Dennis got married. Beth holding me up for a photo op after my paralysis event. And some of the many dinner parties held in the house.
My hearts go out to Beth’s friends and family through this difficult time… She was the strongest woman and had the biggest heart… I remember sitting on the patio with her and Carolyn and we would tell the funniest stories. All of us were laughing so hard for about half an hour to an hour… I will miss Beth… I have so many wonderful memories of her and I will cherish those. I am so sorry I could not make the celebration of life today… I caught that flu bug that’s going around and I definitely did not want to give it to anyone else. I watched the service from my place today… It was perfect. My deepest condolences, Kellie.
I will always remember you. And your greeting when coming into a room. “Hey youze guys”. Is etched into my heart
Ohhh this is such heartbreaking news. I just found out today of passing of Beth and sorry that I missed her celebration of life. Beth was one of the most loving and giving people I know. She radiated with love and kindness to everyone. Beth was funny and called a spade a spade –whether you wanted to hear it or not! Boy, did she love her kids!! Beth was firm, fair and fun. I would imagine that her and Carolyn are catching up with news up in heaven and happy to be reunited again. I send my very deepest condolences to her family and friends. To you, Randall, I give you a special tight hug. I think of you often.—
remembering such the GREAT kid that you were “back in the day. ” Mrs. C xoxo
Wish I had one last talk. You helped me when I needed it. We shared life’s trials and tribulations. We healed together. I thought, oh wow my first best friend. Just wish I had the chance to talk again. Trust is earned, once lost it taught me a lot. As far as I am concerned, you were their for me, as I was for you as well. May you fly with Carolyn and sit outside the cottage you build in heaven, maybe with permits this time, smiling, love in my heart forever for you, your old roomie, Jody xo
