We Remember
BROOKS, Gordon Sidney
December 31, 1946 — April 30, 2024
It is with a deep love and profound sadness that we announce the loss of Gordon Brooks, who passed away peacefully, while surrounded by family, on April 30, 2024, at the age of 77.
Gordon now goes to join those who went before him, including his parents, George and Mabel Brooks; and his brother, Barry. Left to hold him dear in their hearts is his beloved wife, Janet; their loving cat, CeeCee; as well as Janet’s siblings, Ron (Marie), Deb (Greg), and Dick (Joanie); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordon was a man of imagination and infectious charm. Beyond his devotion to Janet, whom he found and married late in life, his heart belonged to the robust orchestrations of classical music and the greens and links of golf courses throughout North America and the British Isles. He was an overseas member of Royal Port Rush in Northern Ireland as well as Marine Drive Golf Course in Vancouver, BC. Gordon had a melodic voice, a sharp wit and a engaging smile. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life well-played.
There will be a private family service held in Gordon’s honour.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior.

I’m very sorry to hear of Gord’s passing. I enjoyed our many rounds of golf together and our road trips to check out new courses. Gord was always up for that. My sincere condolences.
Our hearts are broken. Gordon (also known to us as Ace), was a friend to us both for many years. He and Janet traveled to Pinehurst and stayed with us, and also with my dad, for several golf events. What a lovely human and good friend. Janet, we love you. Our love to all of your family.
