We Remember

BROWN, Charles Currie
—
Charles “Chuck” was born in Finch, Ontario, April 2, 1931, sadly he passed away on December 11, 2019 at Kelowna General Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Chuck had the most kind and gentle spirit with a very loving smile. Many will remember his dry sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 67 years, Peggy; sons Robert (Louise) and David (Lori); grandsons Aaron and Ryan; granddaughter Leah (Chris); and two great grandchildren Hunter and Luna; and his brother Donald Brown, the only sibling left out of five.
Chuck, at the age of 18, joined the RCMP and played in the RCMP band as a trombone player. A few years later in Regina, SK, as a career change, he graduated as a Certified General Accountant and worked for many years as a comptroller of Western Canada with Molson’s Brewery. 1969-70 he served as president of Alberta CGA and in 1974-75 he served as president of the General Accountants Association of Canada. He was designated a ‘Fellow’ of the CGA in 1973. Retirement was enjoyed for many years, travelling, golfing, and gardening.
Many thanks to those who responded to Chuck when he asked for assistance at Munson Pond; you gave him 15 min of CPR. It is wonderful to know there are people who care and are willing to step up when there is a need.
Respecting Chuck’s wishes there will be a private Celebration of Life gathering on a bright sunny day next summer.
Oh Peggy ..we are so sorry to hear about Chuck! I will always remember his sense of humour and the smile that went with it! Mum and dad enjoyed all your Fri night suppers which I hope will continue!….xoxo Sandy and Al Hamm
My sincere condolences, Peggy, on the recent sudden death of your husband. Always enjoyed chatting with him when he was out walking in the neighborhood.
