It is with a great sense of sadness and loss that we announce the passing of David Brown. David died peacefully with family at his side on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife Edna of 57 years; daughter Kathy (Brian) Butchart (grandchildren Megan and Kyle); and sons Glenn and Neil (grandchildren Nicholas and Juliette, and their mother Melanie). David left his native Australia at the age of 19 to come to Canada to attend Prairie Bible Institute. Upon graduation he moved to Calgary where he met and married Edna. He worked for the Alberta Wheat Pool until his retirement in 1985. David and Edna subsequently moved to Kelowna to enjoy their retirement years. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 12 noon at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery: Promontory Green. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Centre for the Southern Interior, www.bccancerfoundation.com. I was just catching up on my newspaper reading and was saddened to learn about the loss of your Grandfather and Father. He seemed to have accomplished a lot in his lifetime and I am sure he was proud of your accomplishments too.
