Passed away February 28, 2012 at the age of 80. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Josephine; his sister Ella (Edward); 11 children: Lawrence (Karen), Lorraine, Philomena, John, Philip (Donna), Mary (David), Michael, James, Benedict (Catharine), Daniel (Grace) and Monica (Darrell); 13 grandchildren: Corey, Kayla, Julia, Christopher, Evan, Andrea, Ryan, Marisa, Molly, Timothy, Mackenzie, Hailey and Nathan. Born in Regina and raised on farms in Saskatchewan and BC, he set down roots and raised his family in Victoria and Kelowna. Most of his career was spent in the hardware and building supply business. He was BC’s first President of the Young Socreds and very active in the CYO and BC Federation of Independent Schools. He was a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and very involved in Immaculate Conception Parish. Joe enjoyed public speaking, singing, dancing, carpentry and especially fishing. He loved being around his children and grandchildren and giving and receiving smiles to everyone. Prayers will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Sunday, March 4 at 7:30 pm. Funeral will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, 839 Sutherland Ave, on Monday, March 5 at 1:00 pm, with a reception at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall following the burial at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.
