We Remember
BRYANT, Josephine Dorothy “Jo”
February 13, 1916 — July 15, 2024
It is with deep sadness and a profound love that we announce the loss of the wonderful Josephine Dorothy Bryant, who passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024, at the exceptional age of 108.
Jo’s loving family is left to hold her dear to their hearts, including her daughter Sharon; grandchildren, Rick and Gregg Milton; and great-grandchildren, DJ, Tyler, and Randy; along with all those whose lives she touched with her vibrancy and kindness.
She now goes to join those who passed before her, including her first husband, Harold Holley, and second husband, Art Bryant.
Josephine was born in Vancouver, BC on February 13, 1916, and lived a remarkable 108 and a half years filled with joy and purpose. She was a devoted Brownie and Guide leader, managed Stedman’s store with dedication, and found immense pleasure in gardening, knitting, and reading. Jo was a passionate hockey fan, always cheering for her beloved Vancouver Canucks. At home, Jo’s pies were always a hit with family and guests. The pies she made with the church ladies for bake sales and events, however, were truly incredible.
Known for her perpetually cheerful demeanour and sharp sense of humour, Jo never hesitated to call out nonsense, valuing honesty and integrity. Her love for bright and cheerful colours mirrored her vibrant spirit. Jo’s unwavering commitment to helping others and her infectious happiness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2024, at 1:00 PM, located at SPRINGFIELD FUNERAL HOME, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC, with Kim Bergstrom as Celebrant. In honour of Jo’s love for colour, she would request that family and friends wear cheerful colours at her celebration.
