My condolences on George’s passing. I knew George and Alberta because my father, Len Lobb, was Alberta’s cousin. I met George and Alberta in April 2000 when they were visiting my cousin Carol in Toronto and they all came to my home for dinner. I was so impressed with George’s gentle and quiet manner – we had such a lovely visit with them.
our condolences to the Bubar family who we have known all of our lives. We remember George well as a butcher at McMynns grocery store, bartending at our family reunions at the Midway curling rink. George and Alberta were very good friends with our parents Wes & Judy Demchuk. We have many fond memories of George and family. Our memory of George is that of a very friendly, happy, kind soul. A huge loss. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. Sincerely Ruth and Tina. Hugs to you all
Alberta & family: we are so sorry to hear of George’s passing. I have memories of George for my entire life, fond memories. George & Alberta were such a large art of the community of Midway. Our condolences. Berk & Merry
Alberta & family: Our condolences on Georges’ recent passing. We had so many, many happy times together. All the bonspeils, ball tournaments and dances. Smiles and laughter everywhere. George could light up the room. Will always remember George will love and laughter. Not to mention the huge wood pile.
Thinking of you. Bear (Gerald & Lynda)Dennill
I was saddened to hear the passing of Mr. Bubar. We were long time neighbours in Midway ( Fred & Bernice Lapshinoff ). Mr.Bubar always had a smile on his face and was always friendly. I remember attending a park in Oliver, back in the 60’s . I challenged Mr. Bubar for a…….maybe 100′ dash….yup, I lost and I was young! ! I can visualize clearly Mr Bubar behind the butcher counter, greeting you with a big smile. A lot of time was also spent at the curling rink. Those were great times. Lots of fond memories to be had. My deepest condolences to the family.
