  • DAWN GIBSON says:

So sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. She was a lovely lady, always ready with a smile and a cheery hello. We have many memories of campouts with her and John, my parents (Bert & Anne Howe) and all my crew (David, Stephanie & Devin). My parents spent many winters in Bullhead with John & Joyce and we had many good visits with them all there as well, gambling was the favourite pastime I think. Condolences to John as well as the entire family at this sad time. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed.

  • Andreas Schubert and family, Germany says:

    Dear John
My parents Monika and Michael, my sister Susanne and I were shocked to hear of Joyce’s passing, and we would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to you, as well as to your family and friends. We had known Joyce for a long time, and even though it was not always possible to stay in touch on a regular basis across the Atlantic (let alone see each other regularly), there was always a connection, not just in the form of phone calls and emails being exchanged, but also of wonderful memories, photographs, stories… Joyce was such a hearty, cheerful, caring and generous person! I often think about our trip from Kelowna to Whitehorse up the Alaska Highway in 2008, on which I got to meet Doug and Gary and their families along the way. (If you read this guys: all my best!). We had such a great time together, and just this evening I went through the pictures again (I’m attaching one of the three of us), and all these details and funny things that happened kept coming back to my mind… It was one of the most enjoyable trips I ever made, and I will always be grateful for this experience and thankful to both of you for taking me along.
We will dearly miss Joyce but she will live on in our memories of Canada and the few times she and John visited us in Germany. We wish you all the strength to cope with this loss and send you
    Lots of Love
    Andreas and family
