We Remember
CALLAHAN, Lloyd
—
After a Brief Illness T.L (Lloyd) Callahan passed away peacefully at home in Kelowna, B.C. Overlooking the lake on May 20, 2021.
Known for his passion for business, travel, and all the Okanagan has to offer, Lloyd could be found on the golf course, the ski hill, the pickleball court, or out on the water. He was never one to sit still and he loved to share his experiences with other people.
Fondly called “Chief” by those closest to him, Lloyd will be greatly missed by family and friends.
With a twinkle in his eye and determination in his step. Lloyd was a pioneer in the development and growth of Kelowna and his legacy will live on for many years to come.
In memory of Lloyd, donations may be made to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation.
No service as per Lloyd’s wishes.

To Nancy, Bob, Bruce and Doug,
I want to express my sincere condolences on the passing of Lloyd. Having worked indirectly for Chief for many years, I had the honour of having a number of conversations with him. One thing that I admired about him is that he always had time to have a quick chat with anyone regardless of who they were and where they were in their walk of life. It seems that he knew everyone from the premier of the province to the cashier that worked at the grocery store. Always engaging .
My prayers go out to the whole family.

It is with saddened hearts from John Callaghan (1st Cousin) and Sandra Menard/ Callaghan to hear of the passing of Lloyd. I Sandy, have a great personal memory of when I went to Big White many years ago, and how Lloyd made sure I was looked after and brought me up to the family cabin to see the family. He was a great, kind, friendly man. Our deepest condolences to you all….Sandy and John

To the Callaghan family.
So sorry to hear of Lloyd’s passing.
Lloyd played a significant role in the development of the city of Kelowna. I enjoyed listening to him when he conversed with my father Milt Edstrom who managed Kelowna Builders Supply on Ellis Street so many years ago. He always showed interest in others and had time to talk to you. He was so insightful and set a high standard. He leaves a great family legacy.

Dear Nancy and family,
We are saddened to hear of Uncle Lloyd’s passing, and would like to extend our condolences to the family. We are grateful for the generosity he has shown us, and reminisce on the weekend we spent at his home in Kelowna with him and his family. We remember him being a boss at pickleball, and patient when showing my sister and I how to play. Our sympathy and thoughts are with you all.

Bob, Bruce and Doug,
My sincerest condolences to you all. It was a privilege to know your father. Wishing everyone peace.
Our sincere sympathies to the family. Lloyd served many years on the Advisory Board of the company I was with. Through that association we developed a wonderful friendship and I considered him a mentor. He will be missed.
My sincere condolences to the entire family. I met Lloyd when I was working for Montreal Trust in 1992 and he was on the Board of Directors. I was immediately attracted to him by his enthusiasm, his sense of humour, his street smarts, and his western Canada perspective and pride. He visited me many times in Toronto and we spent time golfing in Kelowna and skiing in Big White. I am extremely sorry that I never saw him over these last few years. I am very sorry to hear of his passing. A wonderful friend and a great and proud Canadian. Sincerely, Tom MacMillan
