Went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2013 at the age of 40. Survived by his loving wife Trish Carefoot; daughter Marissa; son Josh; mother and father Ed and Helen Carefoot; sister Alicia; nieces: Kaitlyn, Heidi, Jillian, Casaundra; nephews: Liam and Byron. Don spent his life doing his best to make other’s lives better. Born in Gander, Newfoundland and during his life he lived in Inuvik, Masset, Bermuda, Vancouver Island, where he met his wife and then settled in the Okanagan, where they had their family. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 8th at 10:00 am at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Children’s Hospital, 938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 4H4. I send you deepest sympathies on the loss of Don. He was my bike instructor in 2000 at the KDSC, and I will forever remember his teaching, his passion for bikes. Remember :green light – stale light. May he Rest In Peace, he fought a hard battle.

This was our first year to meet Don and your family. Don had a great impact on our lives, especially for Jo. He was a great coach, and extremely generous with his time and knowledge. Our time with him was too short and we will miss him very much.
