CARLSON, Dorothy (Dot) Elsie

Born in Vancouver B.C. to Kate and Alfred Charters. Dot is predeceased by her husband Jim (married 57 years), parents Kate and Alfred Charters, brother John Charters and daughter-in-law Sue. Dorothy leaves many friends and relatives in Canada, USA, Mexico, New Zealand, Sweden and UK. Dot lived in Vancouver, Pritchard, Port Mellon, Saltaire, Glenora, Cowichan Bay and Duncan BC. She also spent three years in Espanola, Ontario. Her final 18 years were in Kelowna B.C. Dorothy wore many hats. She was a domestic engineer, farmer on the Pritchard homestead and on the Glenora dairy farm, operated a small grocery store that had gas pumps and was President of 4-Ways Motel and Trailer Park. Dorothy is survived by daughter Pat of Kelowna B.C.; son Jim of Danville California; grandchildren: Tracy (Kevin) and Todd (Maria); great grandchildren: Alyssa, Jeremy, Nathan, Thomas, JT and Jamie. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 3 2016 at 10:30 am at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2091 Gordon Drive with Pastor Patricia Giannelia officiating. Donations in memory of Dot may be made to B.C. Variety Telethon or Christ Lutheran Memorial Fund.
