We Remember

CASEMORE, Mona

(July 12, 1933 – Dec 22, 2020)

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mona Pauline Casemore on Dec 22 at the Mission Landing Care Home in Kelowna. Mona is survived by her brothers Milton (Dorothy) and Sonny Pohoda along with 11 nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Bruce Casemore, two brothers; one sister, and both of her parents.

Mona and her siblings grew up on a farm in the heart of Grand Forks. Family members have fond memories of fun summer gatherings there with her in their younger years.  Mona worked as a secretary at the local Social Welfare office before eventually marrying the love of her life, Nelsonite Bruce Casemore.  After settling in Fruitvale, Bruce and Mona enjoyed much of their leisure time travelling across North America, spending quality time with friends and family at Christina Lake, and participating in many Fraternal Order of Eagles events throughout the Pacific northwest.

Mona will be remembered by many as a kind and loving social butterfly.  Friends and family were always welcome in her home and when she visited others she would typically come bearing some of her culinary delights.  She was blessed with a wonderful singing voice that she shared with her Trail senior choir friends as well as at Parkview Lodge in Midway where she resided in later years.

A private family service will be held in the Spring of 2021. Interment to follow in the Spring in Grand Forks, BC.
