We Remember
CHARLEBOIS, Frances (née Stevenson)
—
Fran, born in Barrie, ON. Married to Victor Charlebois, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. An artist, an intellect, an athlete; a creative lady with a big heart, a sharp mind and boundless energy. Of all the titles, achievements and ways she was exceptional – the role of Grandma (Gigi) certainly in the top.
If Fran could have written her own script about the when and the way she would die; she would have probably changed the when – but most definitely not the way. Nearly 80 years old, rowing on the lake. No doubt devouring every detail; every smell, every sight, sound and the feel of the cold morning air on her face. That’s how she lived her life. An in-progress painting and a half-finished glass of Chardonnay waited for her at home.
Fran’s passing is a great loss for her family, and she will be missed. It’s been said that “it may not be soon, but there will come a day when you think of her and a smile comes to your lips before a tear comes to your eye”. Fran left this world at the top of her game. When you close your eyes and imagine her, there’s only one way you’ll see her – with a huge smile on her face. She leaves us with great memories and an inspirational image of how to live life in the best way – for you.
If we can keep her in our hearts – we’ll be better for it.
