We Remember
CHREST, Sharon
—
The loving, fun, and generous Sharon Chrest died on April 14, 2025, in the Kelowna General Hospital, in Kelowna, BC, at the age of 78.
Sharon was the beloved wife of Kenneth Chrest, they met and married in her home town. They were hand in hand for over 60 years, and together they raised their 2 children, Blaine and Lorie. Later, they welcomed their daughter-in-law Jody to the family, when Blaine and Jody married. Sharon delighted in her grandchildren: Jase, Jessie, Kaden, and Jayna; she is also survived by her family member Norbert.
Born and raised in Oxbow, SK to her late parents Irvin & Lois (née Yeates) Johnson, Sharon was naturally athletic. In fact, she was such an avid athlete when she and Ken met, she would have gone on to the Olympics to compete in track and field – except for the funds needed for such an endeavour. Later in life, Sharon bowled in a league and was a championship bowler, she thrived under competition.
Sharon had a good sense of humour and was someone who could take a joke. She loved to listen to Willie Nelson and would listen to him while she drove around in the Mustang convertible. Sharon became a wonderful gardener, filling her yard with fragrant flowers. She was also a gentle soul who connected with animals, especially cats, of which she had over 15 throughout the years.
Sharon didn’t want a formal service, and so, family and friends are invited to share their condolences, photos, and memories – please scroll down the page to the area call “Condolences”.
