We Remember

CLOZZA, Don

1936 – 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Don Clozza, who died after a tough multi-year health battle. He rarely complained and always maintained a positive attitude on life and his sense of humour was with him till the end, and his intelligences never failed him.

He is survived by his immediate family including three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Don is one of the last survivors of his Britannia high school graduating class. He was a member of the VPD for a decade, and a Veteran of the VSE. Don was soccer player at heart, a top-notch soccer player in his twenties, and played semi-professional soccer at the old callister park in East Vancouver. Don coached youth soccer in East Van and would often take the entire team for burgers and milk shakes at White Spot after a Sunday game. He tried to mentor a large group of reprobate East Van juvenile delinquents, some of whom gained great success and notoriety in life on both sides of the Law.

He always said “do the right thing”“be aware of your situation”, and “lose your temper, and you will lose the game”. He has left us all with his rules to live by.

Don is in the soccer field of dreams in the sky now with his Britannia high school winning provincial soccer team buddies. They will need him up there, he always scored the winning goal.

We’re going to miss you Dad …
