We Remember
COATES, Marjory Clara (nee Nordick)
—
Passed away July 23, 2013 at the age of 73 in Kelowna, BC after a prolonged illness. Marjory is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband of 52 years, Wayne; sons: Randy (Pam), Bryan (Chris); grandsons: Zachary and Jordan as well as many other family and friends. Marjory came from a family of nine brothers and sisters. She was born and raised in Watson, Saskatchewan; met and married Wayne in 1961. They lived in Calgary, Lethbridge and moved to Kelowna in 1979. Marjory worked at the Royal Bank for many years, until her retirement in 1995. With their retirement, Marjory and Wayne enjoyed their snowbird status and spent many happy winters with their friends in El Centro, California, where she could always be found either at the golf course, the ball park keeping score for the ball team or around the fire pit for a social happy hour. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 29th at 1:00 pm at the Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. The family wishes to thank Marjory’s many friends who supported her and Wayne throughout her illness; with special mention to Gayle Dawson and Betty Nordick, without whom it would have been much more difficult. The family would also like to thank the staff at Cottonwoods Extended Care Unit Ward E for their amazing care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC, Suite #307-1664 Richter Street, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 8N3. For Wayne and his family my deepest sympathy, for the loss of their loved one. Margie was a great lady I enjoyed the times we shared a drink or a laugh together. Margie was always a positive person anytime I was in her company, may she find the peace she well deserved.

We still laugh at our winning the Scavenger Hunt with Wayne and Marj at Sunbeam a few years back. Marj found all the tough articles. When we couldn’t find a rabbit’s foot, the final article, we used a teddy bear’s foot with a key chain. Marj howled when we won. Dr.J.& BA, Lethbridge AB
It is with great sadness that we learn of Marge’s passing. She was a great friend and neighbor for the ten years we were across the fence from her and Wayne when we lived in Kelolowna. Our deepest sympathies to the family.
